Again: the abbey route

Today we drove the "abbey route" again, because it was so nice. We started at the Postel abbey.

From there we headed south. And had to cross the channel on this 2nd worldwar bailey bridge. The part where you drive on is just hard-wooden planks. It looks flimsy but it could hold a tank in the 2nd worldwar!

From there we went to the Averbode Abbey, one of the most beautiful ones of Belgium.

This is where we parked our bikes, next to the gate (illegally?)

This is the Abbey-church. Where the "Norbert-fathers" sing and pray.

This is the inside.

From there to the Tongerlo Abbey.

A view through the main-gate....

To reach those abbeys we had to drive on some very small roads. Here's one next to a big canal. On the rightside is a very old bunker.
